Safety

One major reason that we purchased the vehicle is because of the turn signal cameras. However, the image is so small that they become more of distraction to the driver. Additionally, the speedometer appears on the over the image when signaling left further limiting the view that the cameras provide. On my Honda fit, the right turn signal camera is very useful when changing lanes at high speeds on the highway.

Amazing Car!

I leased my 2024 Ioniq 5 last March and fully intend to purchase it once it expires. I have found my Ioniq 5 to be an incredible vehicle on terms of its ride, drivability and its workmanship. The technology, layout and incredible design have continued to impress in many ways and can only sing its praises.

Very likeable SUV. Needs back wiper badly.

Smooth ride. Lots of electronics, maybe too much. No maintenance at all is the most important feature when compared to gasoline(old fashioned)engine cars. Forget forever smelly gasoline and oil.

Great Drive and Smooth

Overall I have been very happy with the car. I wish it came with a home fast charger and better back up camera and warnings. I had a car hit me while backing up and no warning light or sound.

Quirky, eye-catching transportation for around town

This car caught my eye when the hydrogen powered concept was adapted to the Ioniq and some of the local electric companies started using them for fleet vehicles. I was attracted to the lease offer, to see how an EV would work with my lifestyle. To be honest, it is a bit of a strange car. There is a lot to like as well though. I like the overall power and driving experience and it is a very sharp looking vehicle. I was also attracted to the matte finish. My friends call it a stealth fighter. The car overall is roomy and comfortable. What I dont like is the infotainment system and the sensors, in particular how the sensors are constantly detecting threats even when the car and everyone around me is standing still. The music app (starting and stopping) is actually a chore. The Lock/Unlock buttons on the door look the same. It's not clear where the door handles are on the inside, and the charging location for the phone makes it impossible to use. Also this has the original USB connections instead of the updated USB-C which is used across most of my devices now. The car also needs a rear wiper, and I didn't know the matte paint was so difficult to clean.

Good all around

Only a couple things I would change first there is no rear wiper one the car and should be. Second vehicle camera view to rear ok except for very rainy days but should be able to get a camera view to front 160 degrees around

Good range, roomy, poor driving position, dangerous lane assist

The Ioniq 5 is well proportioned and competitively priced. It is spacious inside, with ample headroom and legroom in the back seats. Unfortunately, it is impossible to adjust the steering wheel position so that I can comfortably see the speedometer and other dashboard information. Even though the seat has five 5-way electronic adjustments, I can't get comfortable with it. The lane assist feature is dangerous. On several occasions, it has steered me into an occupied left lane, forcing me to fight with it to get back into the lane. Dealing with the dealership for service and problems has been extremely unpleasant. There have been long waits for appointments (months), rude employees, and failure to address problems in a reasonable way. That said, the dealership recently addressed a couple of recalls in a timely manner.

Our IONIQ 5

This is our first electric car experience and we would highly recommend this vehicle to you as well. It is so comfortable, the interior is very high end and the visibility is also great. We have never had a mechanical problem and you can depend on this car getting you to your destination. Brilliant styling and classy interior makes you feel so good in this car, plus you get compliments everywhere you are.

More luxury than you need

I totally my first 2024 Ionic 5. Safety features can't stop you from being stupid. But they help. I have trouble with the simple things; how do I have the dome light come on when I open the door? How do I change the volume on the navigation app? I did these things on my totaled car. I could only get a 2024 lease when I went to replace my car--the tariff was making everyone rush to by. I have 2 suggestions: there should be a few USB-C ports, I wish the car would automatically lock and I wish I could remote start and stop with my iPhone

Everything is great except for a design flaw

I have enjoyed my Ionic 5 except for a couple of design flaws, one the lack of windshield wiper in the back and the other is the door plastic peeling due to seat belt rubbing door. Material on the door panel used is fragile.

Love the car. Can sometimes be a little glitchy with software.

Only negative is the parallel parking of your vehicle. Who gets out of their car to do that. You’ll be killed in Chicago. My Chevrolet Volt allowed me to stay in vehicle and it worked perfectly.

The Ioniq 5 is smartly styled inside and out. It is comfortable and fun to drive. My husband “Loves to ride in it” because it is so quiet and smooth on the road.
