Best car we have ever had.

For our use the Ioniq5 is the best. Comfortable, great looking and smooth handling. It is fast, fun and easy to drive. It feels open and pleasant. The controls and electronics are better than anything we have driven.

Disappointed in Hyundai

I love my car. I’m very unhappy with Hyundai. I am a former owner of a 2022 Ioniq 5 SE which I bought new in March 2022. I traded it in in March 2025 for my new Ioniq 5 limited. Hyundai has refused to send me a NACS adapter which I would have gotten had I not purchased a new vehicle. I’m pissed and will never buy another Hyundai.

Great Overall, but Missing Some Key Features

Interior design is simple in a good way. I love the way it drives and feels. I do think that for the price of the car, some basic features are missing. My biggest safety concern is the lack of a rear windshield wiper. The rear windshield is pretty vertical, similar to a Kona which features a wiper, and water does not fall off of the Ioniq 5, which can restrict visibility. I also think some things like motorized mirrors and a spare tire are basic requests for the price, but are not included.

Great with some drawbacks

There are many features I like but there are many I still haven't figured out. I reviewed the booklet that came with the auto, but it didn't answer all my questions. A video tutorial would be helpful

Well built, quiet, quick, fast charging, good looking

Two months into my time with my Ioniq and I have really enjoyed my EV ownership experience. Everything about it is so well made, fit and finish is far above what you see in a Tesla. There are still physical controls for audio and climate controls which is nice. The menu interface is very easy to learn as well. The vehicle is easy to drive and handle, and maneuver around town. In sport mode it actually provides a fun driving experience as well, which was surprising to me coming from a GTI. The adaptive cruise control is great, especially in stop and go traffic and on long freeway trips. And the DC charging architecture is fantastic - I was able to charge from under 20% to 90% in less than 20 minutes. My only complaints are that the driver intervention systems are too intrusive - I shut most of them off. And the range is only okay on the freeway. I haven't gotten close to the advertised range level. At most I've gotten about 210 miles to a full charge. And I would like to get a NACS adapter to take use to Tesla superchargers and an Android Auto / Apple Carplay Wireless update sometime soon..

Pretty Good Overall

The time it takes to charge the car to 85% is great. However, charging program through Electrify America keeps declining with every change and limitation set by Electrify America's policy and terms update. There also are not enough stations to support the number of electric vehicles owned. Having three recalls in the first year of ownership did not boost consumer confidence.

Great driving experience

Fast charging, efficient vehicle. Handling awkward, software setup over complicated and hard to navigate, and Integrated Charge Control failure with poor response from Hyundai Management (not dealer repair shop).

Would probably go 4.5 stars if such was possible

Car is mostly great and, for my usage patterns, costs very little to operate. However, there *are* some oddball elements of the vehicle that I feel required more thought: - 2024 model -- no hatch window wiper - No way to open & close hatch manually, i.e., NOT with power - The commonly reported hatch rattle, thus far resisting attempts to solve - WAY too much automation of what should be straight-forward operations (high-beam "assist", other "assists", SO MANY THINGS to simply turn off so one can drive the car without warnings sounding every two seconds) - iPedal forces AWD - Regenerative braking deactivates while in reverse? THAT was a bit unsettling the first time; still don't understand why the most recently-selected regen setting would not remain active. - No dashboard button to release the charging port flap. And, despite any suggested solutions I've found on-line, I have NEVER been able to open merely by pressing on the door's external button; in fact, I have given up. Voice control "works", but is a stupid alternative to simply pressing a button on the dash. (Digging the key fob out of the pocket to press, and thus open the charge flap, is even worse.)

It is a very nice car that needs a little refinement to make it 5 star

My 2024 Ioniq 5 Limited is a nice car that is fun to drive. It handles pretty well and has a pretty smooth ride. It has most all the safety features in it.

Overall great car so far, with some minor quirks

We're really enjoying the Ioniq 5. The drive is great, and its comfortable and easy. We've only put 2,600 miles on it, so I can't speak to durability. But since this is a rare area to give feedback, here are a few things I would change: 1) Allow drivers to set regenerative breaking level rather than have to change it every time we start the car (and/or allow us to change it without actually driving); 2) auto lock doors when leaving the car and all doors are closed and key fob is outside of car; 3) allow us to adjust the color temperature of the overhead lighting, or make it warmer (it's hideous); 4) I would really prefer either analog dials or just a better design for the steering wheel dash display
