Surprised at how much I love it

I’m 6’4” and had always been a truck guy. I was curious about Eva’s but was nervous about how I’d enjoy driving it every day. Concerns around charging time, range anxiety etc. so when I saw the lease deal for the Ioniq, I took a leap of faith willingly trading out my Tacoma for a little battery powered hatchback, and… I. Love. It!

Favorite car ever, just a few small tweaks to be an absolute home run

This has been a great vehicle because of its comfort, space, quickness, and overall design uniqueness. There are just a few little things I wish were a bit better, but it is a wonderful vehicle overall!

Great other than user interf

The car rides very well and is incredibly comfortable, period. It charges fast. The many icons on the dash are bewildering and the user interface was clearly done by an engineer, NOT I tuitive at all.

Like the car but not the value to money

Hi, I loved the design right from the moment it was announced and waited for my moment to purchase it. But realized it is way more expensive for the worth. I think about 30 to 35k is the right price and I guess right now it is at that price but I spent about 52k. The current value of the car is 17k as per carmax and I guess no other car in the market deprecates that fast. On top, I got couple of ICCU issues and had to struggle with dealership to get it fixed and not pay when there was an open recall. I had to disclose my thoughts of going through lemon law and then they have got it reviewed and approved replacing 12v battery which was impacted with ICCU problem. These are all not expected for a 50k car. The servicing or maintence is also very minimally offered. My friends who got an audi of 10k less than my car are still getting free premium services and a replacement cars whenever they drop off their car. Even tire rotation is very expensive at hyundai which makes it very hard to go back to hyundai. I love hyundai for their simple and value for money cars but now it is hard to justify that. I now started having horn issue for which I scheduled an appointment, not sure how much I have to struggle now with the dealership

Love my Ioniq5

I have had this car now for two years. And I love it - the nicest car I've ever had. It has served me very well. Good number of miles on a charge, super smooth ride, very quiet, all the luxury features one would want. There are a couple of things that I would change, and I think some have been address in prior models. The main one is a wiper/washer on the back windshield. That is sometimes a problem. Another is that I was sent early on an adapter to use with Tesla chargers - and I have never been able to make it work. That would also be nice since I know the car is capable of super fast charging - but I can't take advantage of it.

Best I could find

I love this car in many ways. The style, the features, the roomy interior. I wish though I could get it minus about 5” of width. Despite what manufacturers push, high end features and small has a market here!! Also wish it had more range. It isn’t my perfect dream car, but was as close as I could get in my price range and before everything goes nacs.

We switched from I.C.E. to electric and will never go back to a fossil fueled vehicle. This Ioniq 5 Limited is quick charging, has such a smooth ride, and I love all the safety features.

Loving my ionic five

I was hesitant to leave Honda as it has been my Goto car for many many years. Honda has lagged in the EV market, which caused me to search far and wide. The ionic five was rated very high by multiple consumers and magazines and we concur. It is very comfortable for travel with multiple seat adjustments, including Support for the drivers lower legs. It is spacious, modern, and attractive inside and out. The layout of the console is remarkable with excellent camera coverage. Our main criticism is the ventilation system. We live in a very hot area and the venting is insufficient in the front and back. Those riding in the back swelter! Needs a model! To us, there is a bit too much redundancy and unnecessary bells and whistles, but it is easy to omit and adjust as desired. The two years of charging has been a true gift!,

Unreliable

Nice riding, fun, but battery distance was concerning, especially in cold weather. Overall score was tied to reliability, had ICCU fault at only 9K miles, after researching found this was a reoccurring problem for the ionic 5 since 2022. Totally unacceptable from Hyundai, I need reliability. Thank you

Almost the perfect EV

Love everything about the car, except one major flaw. I was the unlucky person who got the ICCU failure, and also having an Ioniq 9, I am scared it'll happen to that car. Unfortunately, this is a deal breaker and will not go back to Hyundai until this is 100% fixed

Why complicate key functions

First and foremost, WHY did Hyundai Not include a Rear wiper? Do you understand all it takes is a little dirt/dust to smear the rear window and a person Cannot, I repeat cannot see out of a critical view! I have to turn the rear defroster once I get into the car which absolutely takes at least 15-20 miles just to have a Fair view! I have to make multiple stops at a gas station so I can clean it off but it doesn’t last long at all! Terrible engineering thought! About 1 function to mention yet more functions in poor places- why do I have to go searching for the Heated steering wheel function? That , for one was engineered poorly! Put that function On The Steering Wheel! There are more functions placed in wrong places! The cup holders, in my opinion were only designed for a small water bottle! The diameter needs to be big enough to accommodate standard water containers, not small bottles.

I love the car but I fear getting by ICCU failures.

It's a really fun car to drive, handles well and has great pickup. But Hyundai's continued reluctance to address the ICCU issues openly to the car owners is extremely disappointing.

Snappy, fun to drive, roomy, well appointed, great everyting. My only wishes: wireless AndroidAuto/Carplay and rear windshield wiper. I will be sorry to see it go when the lease is over.
