Almost great

The navigation algorithm is not effective. Sends you to the wrong place. The ev charger access is on the wrong side of the car for easy access to Tesla chargers

Good SUV. Dealer not so good

We have 2 Hyundai EV's. The 2025 Ioniq 5 is a very good and we have had no problems with it. We also have a 2024 Ioniq 6; and the 12v battery failed at 14 months. Cost us $260 for a new battery installed by the dealer. This dealer's customer service initially was poor at best. They have been improving. I would not recommend this dealer to any friends. Nor would I recommend a Hyundai EV.

Great Car but a couple of issues

Need to move the phone pad charger out of the sun. The sun comes through the Windsheild and bakes the phone. Only C plugs frustrating. Hard to park because there is no camera in the front.

Great Car after about 18 months

No issues at all. Mostly driving in town and charging at home. Some longer trips and charging at stations. Everything is top notch. Funto drive and especially enjoy the performance of the car.

Good except for ICCU that ruins it all because it's permanent risk

Good except for ICCU. It has this ICCU problem which is a fundamental engineering design problem that is not solved. It means the car can just break anytime. I will not get another hyundai after this lease ends. It's one thing to have problems, that's ok. But you need to SOLVE THEM once you discover. And this require a recall / redesign, and spend a grand or two on every car out there to change it for a better design. Just changing the part that can fail anytime by another identical one that can fail anytime because it has the same fundamental design flaw is appalling, shameful, and as a result I can't take this car on a trip or anything. I'd be embarrassed if I was hyundai. You need to ADDRESS the problems, not pretend they don't exist. I was stopped in the middle of driving on the edge of the highway.

Overall its a good car. All the features are too "tech geeky". Because it's all touch screen on the display to include climate control, I have to take my eyes off the road to see what I'm touching. Physical switches would be safer, I can find them by feel.

TSF's I-5 critique

Love most of the car; home recharge is easy; battery is sufficient most of the time; but highway driving in I-80 in Wyoming with a head wind really cut the range; and no fast charge in Laramie! Wish I could change from my wife to me as the driver while underway. Changing the clock to Standard time was not straight forward. Love the Sport mode, but could the suspension tighten, like it does on my Boxster?

Poor Warranty Service

The Ioniq 5 is a reasonable mid-price EV, but our experience with warranty service has been poor. We have had two warranty claims both related to battery failures. Both kept the car out of service for indeterminate times, the longer of which turned out to be 30 days.

Maybe not all but definitely mine

I have had my vehicle for almost two years but for the past six month my vehicle has been in and out of service for an issue that Hyundai can’t seem to fix. Worse after 6 times taking the vehicle in, they refuse to acknowledge they can’t fix it or make an effort to replace it. There are plenty of this make on the road and I am sad that mine is bad and Hyundai won’t make it right.
