Nearly perfect

No car is ever perfect. Every car I've own has some minor (or major) thing wrong with it. But the Ioniq 5 is pretty close to being perfect, at least for me. The flaws are very minor, possibly even things others. One is the car will unlock when you approach, but it won't lock when you leave. Another is that the split screen has limitations - for example, I can get Android Auto maps + Spotify from Android Auto, but I can't see Android Auto Maps and Sirius XM at the same time. Aside from those two minor things, the plusses are huge. It's comfortable, it accelerates well, the HUD is great. The HDA2 and lane keeping are almost there - they're still a little rough at times. The 360 view camera is very helpful, especially for parking. I've rarely used the self-park feature or the ability to remotely move the car, but they're handy when you need them. Overall I'm very happy with it.

Bad service this time

The salesperson is normally good but this time around he left a dirty mask bye my center console and suggest this trim when the other trim was what I really wanted

Great Introductory to Electric Vehicles

In my opinion the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is a great electric vehicle. I feel safe, I love passing gas stations, and all the features, which there are many for the Limited model, are pretty self-explanatory. If I had a chance to do it all over again, I would purchase the SEL model because the additional non-safety features for the Limited model have not been worth the additional cost for me. Two things of note that need improvement: 1) Minimizing external and/or road noise for a quieter cabin and 2) Heat/AC vents in rear are not adequate and need independent controls for the rear passengers. There are not enough vents in the rear of the car, so it takes some time to cool the rear which is not good for rear passengers in Georgia's sweltering heat.

Great car but worried about ICCU

I love this car and it has provided me with great comfort. I have been hit by the ICCU issue in my previous 2022 IONIQ 5 so I know what to expect but it really sucks to have a loaner for a few months.

Ioniq 5 XRT

Despite the Ioniq being small from the outside, it is extremely spacious in the inside and has plenty of convenient features like the movable center console, the amount of charging ports, and the spacious legroom for the driver and front passenger. A few things I did notice are the lack of space in the glovebox compartment and the suspension the Ioniq 5 XRT has. On other “off road” vehicles the suspension is extremely stiff but the cabin doesn’t feel the bump at all. With the Ioniq 5 XRT, the suspension is smoother but you can somewhat feel the bump inside the cabin.

The door handles ruin it. The interior is bad for kids.

The door handles are infuriating. There is no auto lock, but they make it incredibly obvious to everyone when I've forgotten to lock it. This really needs to be fixed and there's no reason it couldn't be added with a software update. Either auto lock as I walk away or after a set amount of time. I don't care which. The back seat was also set up poorly for car seats. With 3 across, they don't fit well and the seat belts also become very difficult to reach. There are too many nagging nanny features as well including a "wrong way detection" that doesn't understand parking lots. In terms of driving and EV stuff, I have no complaints. Fix the above and you have yourself a five star car.

favorite work vehicle to date

I look forward to driving my new 2025 Ionic 5 for work as a home health worker. It is smooth, has great acceleration, the seat is extremely comfortable for my longer drives. I love the lane centering feature as well. The moon roof is another favorite feature.

What fun driving my Ioniq 5!

Driving an all electric car is so fun! The car is so smart it tells me when I need a charge and Bluelink tells me where to charge. Plus it’s such a “perky” ride. And way roomier than my last hybrid car.

No compromise for the future

This vehicle exceeds my expectations. There are some minor quality issues, but I am very happy with the performance of this vehicle. Starting with the good, since I have free charging at work and solar at home. I pay little to nothing for charging my EV. The gas savings itself nearly offsets the lease payments I make for this vehicle. The performance although a heavy vehicle and a meager 225HP on paper is more than enough for everyday driving. The creature comforts included in my Limited trim spoil me and I find myself taking short naps in the car using the relaxation driver's seat and utility mode. I love how physical buttons and a true dashboard is included instead of forcing drivers to perform nearly all functions through the center touchscreen like other competitors do. The space is ample for truck space and have not often needed to even drop the second-row seats to accommodate capacity. Driving range is adequate and can almost get by with charging once a week akin to refueling an ICE vehicle. On to some of the not so great things. Driving off the lot, I encountered issues with the drive side camera where it was intermittently failing. The dealer also did not include a NACS to J1772 adapter, which having an EV vehicle for the first time, I got confused with using the DCFC adapter which obviously does not work for L2 charging. Without the adapter (until the dealer shipped me the adapter), I was forced to use the L1 plug charger and this was hit-or-miss charging in frustration where it would not charge or later disconnect. The 225hp motor is more than adequate in daily driving, but it does not raise your heartbeat and I wish it had a little more power for some fun. The rear seat back stitching is also crooked and lead to questions of quality control but since the defect is only visible from the truck I'm not too concerned, especially since this is a lease. The included wireless phone charger almost guarantees overheating (in summer time) and I've found myself just turning off this feature. I wish it had active cooling or reduced power so as to not overheat my phone. I've read so much about the ICCU issues online and am still concerned whether I may encounter this issue as well. Since this is a catastrophic failure and can happen anytime, anywhere on a 1 -week old or 3 year old vehicle this has to be the biggest concern for owners of this vehicle. But overall, I have enjoyed driving this vehicle and am happy with the value it brings. Overall, I have very happy with this vehicle and
