An overall excellent EV

a great everyday drive. Very comfortable around town except for relatively large turn radius for a car its size. Cross country performance is excellent- HDA is very helpful and reduces fatigue. Single motor power is adequate but dual motor performance is nicer. Range makes most cross country driving manageable with modest planning . Daily city driving in LA area with home L2 charging is a non issue.

So far so goood

Seems like a good balance of cost and quality. Fun to drive, nice styling. Wish the build quality, especially the central charging podium/cup holder was a bit more sturdy. Also wish the cup holders were bigger.

Distracting and Unsafe Quirky Behaviors

Dashboard switches to night mode under every underpass, and stays that way up to a minute, making it hard to see the dashboard. Hyundai Customer service has been unresponsive to the issue. The car turns on lane following even though I turned it off -- I don't trust it in traffic, I don't trust it on certain parts of the freeway. It's pulled toward the center divider and probably would have crashed if I didn't have my hand on the wheel. And it's very inconsistent. Maybe 10% of the time it doesn't turn on lane following when it normally would have, and that's almost caused a crash when I assumed it was on. Sometime following distance is where I left it, sometimes it's on 4 and slamming on the brakes for a car hundreds off feet ahead. Sometimes navigation functions start automatically. Sometimes they don't. It always tells me "headlights are off" during broad daylight, sometime 15 minutes into my drive. I like the smoothness of the EV. I like iPedal driving. But the quirks take attention from where it should be -- on the road. I can't wait for my lease to end so I can buy another brand.

Ionic 5 is the best value for money in electric car, and the driver ergonomics and many functionality better than more expensive electric cars. The power, range and space is more than enough in mid size SUV.

I received a link to online manual, manual is for 2024 or earlier Ioniq 5. How about a link to 2025 manual. Why doesn’t the Ioniq 5 have walkway door locks? Why can’t I choose the default regen braking?

Not better than the 2022 Limited AWD model

Fun to drive; feels rushed compared to the 2022 model. Qi wireless charger does not charge well any phone I tried, iPedal disengages when cycling through Drive Modes and skips (does not decelerates smoothly when in iPedal) there are gaps in the panels which produces a whistle sound at certain speeds, wiper blades are low quality, there are imperfections in the paint, back right hand side window shade is not secure enough and a slight wind closes it, battery gauge reads certain miles left of range but it's not accurate or precise.
