An overall terrific car with a few tweaks needed

I love our car and we just road tested it on a nearly 6000 mile trip. As more high speed chargers are available - especially where the towns are small and distant - this will become even more fun. As a new electric car owner, there is a lot to learn and the Hyundai manual is not helpful. It is missing key pieces of info like managing multiple screen displays and self parking features. Referring to a video is great, but not a realistic option in many cases. Also, for a small car it has a terrible turning ratio making it more difficult to maneuver in small spaces than our older SUV.

Great Vehicle, Frustrating Driver Profiles and Key Fob

As a car, this is a great vehicle. The range, performance, ride quality and fit/finish is above average, especially for the price. Coming from a 2024 model, the addition of a rear wiper is very appreciated, the suspension is greatly improved (but still skittish over bumps at highway speed). A few issues remain with software / technology that make the ownership experience suboptimal 1. The lack of keyfob tied driver profiles is PAINFUL. The very slow speed of the dashboard based driver selection / confirmation is among the worst I have experienced. It will be the first thing I evaluate on a future purchase and is enough to ensure I would not buy this year model at lease end. 2. The wireless Android Auto is very impressive - fast to connect and reconnect. The issue is the wireless charging pad offering no active cooling - this makes the wireless charge unusable for more than 30mins before it causes a phone to start limiting performance or even shutting down. 3. The keyfob is unnecessarily large and bulky without any added functional benefit. Your product team only need to look at the after market in 3D printed fobs to realize how hated this is. Too large to carry.

Just what. I was looking for

Design is unique. Transition from my LEAF has been easy and comfortable (unlike to our Tesla). Especially helpful when we were w/o power for 1.5 days and could power up the necessary appliances at home). Fits my golf clubs and cart with room to spare

Love the car, being all EV, fun to drive

Totally pleased with our choice. I am getting nearly 400 miles with full charge, and 320+ with 80%. Using paddles is fun, and creates another level of driving activity.

2nd go-round with an Ioniq 5!

This is my 2nd Ioniq 5. I first leased a 2023 model, and now started a new lease with a 2026 model. Obviously I love the car since I renewed the lease! It is so great to drive, and I get compliments on it all the time. There are a few things I miss from my 2022 model: - I really prefer the 2022 display interface. It's mostly the maps and music apps that I think took a huge step backwards. - I had this really cool customizable interior lighting that is not in my 2026 model. That lighting was the #1 thing that passengers loved about the car. - I don't love that I need to use an adapter every time I charge now. I never needed an adapter on the 2022 mdoel. On the plus side I'm thrilled my phone no longer needs to be physically plugged in to use Apple CarPlay.

Mostly good Ioniq 5

Comfort, driving, efficiency, are all excellent. The largest issue is that the charging control module failures do not seem to have a fix and I worry about when our controller will fail. A minor issue is the menu system is frequently confusing, even after successfully completing a task, when I go back to do it again, it is still not easy.
