Best Car I've Ever Owned

First Hyundai and first EV I've purchased and I couldn't be happier with it. The design is top notch and the driving experience is simply fantastic. I've heard some complain about the overall appearance, but I love it. Sedans are a rare thing these days, but I prefer them to the "yet another SUV" style designs. The seats are so comfortable, I wish I could purchase home/office furniture from Hyundai as well now. The ride is very smooth, but that may be due to the smaller wheels in my trim package. Range is great, too. Public chargers are not required at all for normal daily use - only for long road trips. Maintenance service has been hassle free, but I may have just lucked out on a great local dealer (Hyundai of Venice, FL).

Ionic six has deficiencies

I’ve had this car now for almost 3 years. It drives well and as well designed on the outside, but is missing some essentials that are not included at the mid-level price point, and it is not competitive with the market. There should be automatic seats in the right passenger side, there should be seat memory for front seat seats, and there should be high-level headlights as well. The fact that you don’t offer these in the mid-level is is a miss. In fact, it’s why I will not buy a Hyundai again.

Great EV (but I have some notes :))

Overall, the Ioniq 6 is one of the best EVs on the market. The range and charging speed it offers is unequaled, except for cars outside of it's price class (see: Lucid). The exterior appearance of the Ioniq 6 is somewhat polarizing: you either love it or you hate it. BUT, either way, if you own an Ioniq 6, you own a car that looks unlike any other car on the road. I have taken my Ioniq 6 on a 1600-mile road trip, and it performed beautifully. The comfortable interior and highway-driving assist really helped the miles pass by quickly, comfortably, and safely. The main concern I have with the car is that battery preconditioning—critical for doing fast, Level 3 recharging with a battery that isn't warm—can be tricky to initiate. I wish that Hyundai trusted its EV owners (generally a very knowledgeable and thoughtful bunch) to initiate preconditioning manually, rather than relying on a Byzantine series of conditions that must be met. This, coupled with the general poor state of fast charging infrastructure in the US, can make road trips in the Ioniq 6 frustrating for those (e.g my wife) who are accustomed to and need for it to be as seamless and thoughtless as with a non-EV vehicle. I hope (and suspect) future Ioniq models have manual preconditioning and that the EV infrastructure will get built out at a faster rate than EV adoption.

Great car with a few hipcups

12VDC battery died after 18 months. Bluelink stopped working and was unable to get any customer service from them. It took over 6 months to correct.
