engine quality

we have ONLY had this Vehicle since December 19 2025, and TWICE now, it has FAILED to perform. the first time, the vehicle developed a major problem with a computer failure, whic only allowed the vehicle to run at a speed of 13 MPH, and was in the repair shop for two weeks, the second time, I could only get it to run at 29 MPH. I took it out to your DEALERSHIP in Fort Wayne, Indiana. on the way to the dealership. it must have corrected itself and started running Normal again. the dealership tested EVERYTHING the could Think of and found nothing wrong, so they called Hyundia engineering. even they had no idea what the problem could be, so our dealership asked if they could keep it a while to road test it to try to reprodce the problem. finally, after about a week and a half the reproduced the problem, but as of today, have not found the cause of the problem. we are still looking for the CAUSE of the problem. we really LOVE the room, and everything else the vehicle has. my wife is bound to move anywhere with her wheel chair and the Santa Fe is perfect for her chair. if it weren't for the roominess and capibilities, we would just get rid of the thing because of the engine problem. so far, we still love our Santa Fe, and are willing to allow the dealership do what ever needs to be done to make it dependable again, or even replace it if need be. Thank you

It’s ok…

Great design and comfortable. Way too many issues with phantom alarms, infotainment center having to reset way too often. Car completely draining battery while sitting for a couple hours and faulty door lock actuators. Will I buy another? Definitely not. If I could trade it in and not lose a ton of money? Yes I would.

Car cannot be protected from rodent damage

I have a year old car that continually needs rewiring because of squirrel damage. Despite sprays and light/sound machines whatever the wires are coated with is drawing rodents. The damage area is unpredictable and can effect the wiring in the main engine or the wheel area, or really anywhere in the car. And that makes it unsafe since the damage can't be stopped and effects the driving dependability. I have many cars parked in the same place at my home and none have this problem.

Nice vehicle but poor human interface

Our SF hybrid is a nice comfortable good mileage vehicle. Overall a very good vehicle except for confusing and sometimes limited human interface. These are probs that if fixed would make top notch vehicle except OE tires have terrible wear , maybe 15k miles max. Really substandard. Voice commands work terrible except for phone. Impossible to use for navigation. N Home Screen the map is so dark it can’t be seen. Not adjustable unless you go to full map. Constant take a break warnings - too sensitive. External sensors don’t work in heavy rain and snow. Getting alarms under tricky driving situations is distracting and dangerous. Selecting media is difficult while driving. Simple buttons would help. It is easy to leave hybrid car on as no obvious indicator that car is off exists, just a tone and lights stay on as convenience. Typical of many hybrids. If convenience proximity feature is used for tailgate it may open into garage door if you walk outside of garage near door. Use a kick method instead. Tailgate rear window opening would be nice as in many other suvs.

I enjoy my Santa Fe Hybrid SEL AWD

Comfortable ride quality, great fuel economy, and very spacious leg room. The infotainment system integrates with both my Android and IPhone extremely well. Interior paneling quality is mid, and the factory speakers and amplifier is weak and subpar at best. But overall is a really good quality ride. Driving it is very comfortable and not overly complicated. The added tow hitch is a bonus I wasn't expecting this to have and I'm extremely glad that I have it.

Absolutely love this vehicle !!!

I’ve been driving for well over 50 years and had my share of sports cars, luxury SUV’s, sedans, coupes and minivans. I’ve enjoyed almost every single car I’ve owned over the years with the exception of a couple of clunkers. I have to say that my 2025 Hyundai SantaFe is by far my favorite to date. I love the style, handling, comfort and the tech package is outstanding.

April 2025

I am very happy with this vehicle except for one significant flaw. The Lane Keep Assist function has a system for monitoring driver attention that does not work properly. Apparently it relies on an infrared sensor mounted on the steering wheel column that does not work if it is sunny out and/or if the driver is wearing sunglasses. This pretty much negates the ability to use this system in the daytime unless it is an extremely cloudy day. There does not appear to be a way to turn off the monitoring system without disabling the Lane Keep Assist Function. Very disappointed in this. It's a valuable safety feature that can't be used much of the time.

Two Things That drives Me Crazy About My 2025 Santa Fe Hybrid Limited

Let me begin by saying that I love this car. Period. With that out of the way, here are the two things that that make me nut - one being technical, the other being a design flaw. When driving the Santa Fe after it's been sitting for a while - overnight or just a few hours - the engine (or transmission?) surges for the first five minutes - kind of like I'm pumping and letting off the accelerator. The fluctuating RPMs are visible on the tach. The first time I brought it in for service about this, the service department said that they could not repeat the problem. The second time I brought it for service, the service writer told me that it was common because all the sensors need to be warmed up to the same temperature. Online, other people are complaining about the same issue. I find it hard to believe that Hyundai would design a vehicle and think it was OK for these surges to be not a problem. Next - the design issue. There are only two AC vents for the rear passengers and those are small and narrow vertical outlets in the b-pillar. That's just stupid. Hopefully they're doing something about that for the 2027 refresh. OK - one last thing: there needs to be an option to omit the 3rd row.

2025 SANTA FE HYBRID

Great on gas mileage, comfortable ride, in the mornings it’s jittery for few miles, and the ac stings mold….they tell me I have to pay the dealer to have it fixed… it’s a service you suppose to have every year… I call it BS…new car and has this problem….. I owned Honda products since 1995 to 2025… NEVER EVER I HAD AN STINKY AC LIKE THIS… PAY THEM MONEY TO FIX THEIR PROBLEMS??? NO I WILL GIVE THEM SOME GOOD ADVERTISEMENT THEY WILL NEVER DO THAT AGAIN…. TALK TO ME BEFORE YOU BUY A SANTA FE…
