2024 Hyundai Tucson Review

This is my third Tucson (2005, 2013, 2024). Always dependable and the best bang for the buck so I never questioned my last choice which was an sel with convenience pkg all wheel drive. However, there are things about the 2024 Tucson that could be better and I hope future models will be improved because Hyundai has, overall, never let me down. Next time I will be more aware of what to look for.

Great warranty and technology but…

There’s little get up and go. Stepping on the gas strains the vehicle. Snd gas mileage is not great.

Priced as a base vehicle but excellent from all angles.

10 year warranty + 5 year 0% interest financing, means We can always have 2 cars under warranty but only one car payment: - Savings make sense. Pros: - Base price @ $28K, not too high & not too low to climb in & out, naturally aspirated engine (no turbo), automatic transmission (no cvt), remote start, one click down & once click up windows, aluminun wheels, remote tailgate open & close. Cons: - Heated seat button position (I accidentally hit the heated seat button - perhaps those can be moved in future models), Motorized seat position adjustment (I prefer manual seats).

Service

The service dept in Bakersfield in very good. I used them for my 2017 Tucson as well. My only concern is with my 2024 Tucson. I have been told that there is a defect in the rotors. At my first service at 7500 miles I experienced a vibration. They had to shave the rotors, and told me that this is a defect. It will be covered up to 60,000 miles and then I am on my own. Not fair since it is a defect, not something I have caused.

Good gas mileage. I don't like the constant shifting the vehicle does when the air conditioner is on. Also, when I turn the car off, even though it's in Park, the car surges forwards or backwards. I have tried addressing this with the dealership but have not received a great deal of satisfaction. My foot is on the brake. But it doesn't make any difference. I have never had a vehicle do this. It is unsafe if the passenger tries to get out of the vehicle because the car moves.

I like it but my wife is not crazy about the styling and color.

The A/C vents aren't as adjustable as I'd like. There is no intermittent setting on the windshield wipers. Why not? And the auto setting is not working (will have service look at it). I think the cruise control is a bit over-complicated. We only have 9,900 miles on it so we don't know how reliable it will be.
