LEMON ON WHEELS

After purchasing this vehicle with high expectations based on Hyundai’s reputation for quality, innovation, and reliability, I have unfortunately encountered a series of issues that have left me frustrated and disheartened. From the start, the vehicle has fallen short of the standards I was led to believe it would meet, mechanical issues, electrical malfunctions, uncomfortable ride quality, excessive road noise, etc. These issues have not only inconvenienced me but have also eroded my confidence in the vehicle and the brand as a whole. What is most concerning is poor dealership service, lack of responsiveness, or unresolved repairs. As a consumer, I expected more accountability and customer care from a brand that claims to prioritize quality and customer satisfaction. I chose Hyundai over other competitors based on your advertised promises of reliability and value, but at this point, I’m seriously reconsidering my decision. I hope you take this feedback seriously and take steps to ensure future Tucson models—and the support experience that accompanies them—better reflect the values Hyundai claims to uphold.

My Tuscan review

I do really like my Tuscan, the only thing that causes me concern is the blind spot with the front passenger side of the SUV. The mirror is quite large and sits out further than I realized. For me, it blocks a lot of my site line.

Happy Customer

We have had our Hyundai Tucson for about 9 months. The only issue we have and it’s not a big deal. Increase of noise when driving over 50 MPH, this is an issue for almost all cars.

Vibrating Brakes at 10K miles, Connectivity Issues with Apple Car Play

This is my second Hyundai Tucson. My first one was a 2022 model. At around 10,000 miles, I noted that there was vibration when I was breaking from speeds of 45 miles an hour and greater. I was told by the service tech that there was a loose lug nut, and that had caused damage to the rim. Hyundai gracefully replaced the rim, however, the shuttering resumed about 2000 miles later. The next time I was in, I was told that my brake rotors were warped and that it was caused from excessive high-speed breaking. The vehicle only has 32,000 miles on it at this point, and most of my driving is actually performed on 55 mile an hour or greater highways. I’ve been driving cars for almost 40 years, and I have never had a car that had the brake issues like this and my driving habits have not changed much over the last 10-15 years. Fix that was offered was to resurface the rotors to a cost of about $650. When I questioned the service advisor, it would seem that a thinner rotor would probably begin warping sooner as the problem is with the breaking system and the vehicle not with myself. I was also offered to do an entire new brake job with new rotors, however, that option was about two or $300 more than resurfacing the rotors. When I inquired about replacing the pads as well as the rotors, since there’s most likely damage to the pads, I was not given a direct answer of yes, or no, just an answer of it would be a good idea. I’ve also been very frustrated with connectivity issues between my Apple CarPlay and the Hyundai Tucson. Intermittently, it will just disconnect and will not reconnect. Even with a complete stop and turning off the ignition and resetting the whole system, it does sometimes not work. Overall, the size of the vehicle and the convenience is great. However, I would not purchase another Hyundai Tucson due to the issues that I’ve had with the connectivity issues on the 2022 model and 2024 model as well as the brake issues with the 2024 model.

Happy Owner

The 2024 Tucson is our first experience with a Hyundai, having had Toyota RAV4s and Highlanders as our previous vehicles since 2006. While looking to replace one of our RAV4s, we looked into the Tucson, which promised a smoother ride and quieter road noise. So far, those promises have fulfilled. The only negative, in comparison to the RAV4s, is the acceleration with the Tucson is not quite as quick. Still, it is adequate enough, and the smoother, quieter ride is an acceptable trade-off. The interior is quite comfortable and roomy in front and back, but the cup holders in the rear seating could be larger. We're glad we bought it.
