Major issue within a month; not reimbursed
Here’s the series of events: when I first called for roadside assistance on June 9 after having the leased vehicle for 21 days, the brand new 2026 Hyundai Tucson broke down in the middle of the road at 5:18. I was given a 90-minute estimate for the tow truck to show up by Hyundai roadside assistance.
After ninety minutes, I called again. I was told that the tow service would reach out to me. The tow service called at 7:30 (I had been waiting for over two hours in my 90-degree vehicle), saying that it would be another two hours at least for them to respond to the call.
I spoke to roadside assistance two more time to clarify that if I were to cancel the tow service through roadside assistance and were to find my own tow service, that I would be reimbursed.
It was a “no brainer” to cancel the tow (which would have reached me by 9pm at the earliest) rather than waiting a total of four or more hours for the towing service.
And now, after spending hours needlessly going back and forth, not getting a loaner, spending $200 on a tow service, and generally being inconvenienced by this entire process, I cannot believe that the reimbursement request has been denied.
Very disappointed with Hyundai
