Great EV but......

first off, we love the car. unfortunately, the 2023 and older models do NOT have rear windshield wiper which impedes our vision during inclement weather.

It's a good car

The I5 is fun to drive, feels safe, and has great styling. It seems to drive right past gas stations without even looking at the price of gas.

This is a lease, I don't know what else is asked of this question

Good vehicle overall. Dealer support for me is 60 min away. This is not OK but not a surprise. There is a persistent rattle in the back of car and our dealer is too difficult to schedule in for a repair. Leaves a less than good impression of Ionic5 overall

Overall excellent EV with one key missing feature & one odd incident

We leased our Ioniq 5 two years ago. It has excellent performance and range, plenty of room for two adults and two kids to ride in reasonable comfort, a quiet ride, and an interface that is not overly complicated. But why on earth does an SUV not have a rear window wiper? That's a glaring omission. Also, it's been completely reliable except one time about two months ago it simply wouldn't start. It displayed an error message about the battery -- not the rechargeable batteries that power the car but the 12-volt battery -- so we had the car flat-bedded to the dealership. The service department found nothing wrong, and it hasn't happened again.

Wonderful car to drive. Handles well. Good mileage. Fully meets expectations. Needed changes: brakes can make a clunking noise after a stop. Also needs a rear wiper which is on newer models.

Beautiful Front, Ugly Rear

Car drives nice and is comfortable. Has required service 3x on the 12v battery in the first 40k miles. Annoying, but covered under warranty including the towing. Good sound system. Real buttons would be nice for more functions.

Ok with small issues

I had to take it in because the ceiling sunshade would not close. That took two weeks to fix. Then I had to have it fixed again because the charging port door wouldn't open. That took three weeks. Other than that, and the loud tires, the car is OK.

Under two years, the entire electrical system/batteries died. Scary!

I enjoyed not getting gas, everyone at the dealership has been great, but after all the EV fires and problems, I will never get on e again.

lots of safety features, more complicated to turn off than other ZEVs

Hard to turn off the car due to the steps you have to do in a certain order. The other 5 ZEVs I have had would turn off when I walked away, same for removing the charger. I just find it to be stubborn and frustrating. I also don't appreciate how long it takes for service and updates since they don't give a loaner car.
