problems w/ the battery: Hyundai fails to fix despite multiple recalls

Quit slapping a Band-Aid on the battery issues. Shame on Hyundai. It looks like they’re just waiting for a class action lawsuit. The ICCU problems never go away, no matter how many times they pretend to “fix” them. Now some Ioniq 5's are just catching fire due to the faulty high voltage battery. FIX THE ISSUES!!! They advertised fast charging, yet you’re lucky to see more than 10 kW—and most of the time it drops to 6-8 kW. That’s not just misleading, it’s false advertising. On top of that, the car is a safety hazard. The rear window is useless in any kind of precipitation, yet Hyundai didn’t bother to include a wiper. The so-called “recall fix” for the rattling in the back? A joke—it still rattles nonstop. And Velcro to hold down the back mat? That’s not engineering, that’s laziness. Hyundai has cut corners everywhere, and it shows.

Drives great, responsive, well designed EXCEPT it needs a rear window wiper, badly. I regularly receive compliments on it from strangers.

A few things

Automatic door locks I find annoying at times and not able to turn off for passenger doors. Also when doors are unlocked it seems the handles are out. This advertises that car is unlocked and that is not always desirable. Sometimes want doors unlocked but not advertised that they are unlocked. Needs rear windshield wiper. Auto headlights bright is confusing and awkward. Needs to be simplified. Show headlights bright status on heads up. When in manual mode car should alert driver when “brights are on and should be off” inside heads up display. Add wireless CarPlay. Love the car otherwise. Interior rear cloth over speakers easily torn. Odd bubbling defect on door panels.

Overall a good car but not reliable

This car drives well and has good design but has been very unreliable. And Hyundai has not done enough to deal with the problem. They have had a shortage of critical repair parts for several years now.

It would be nice to have a rear window wiper. Since I am now able to use Tesla Superchargers, how about telling us how to upload their charging station location maps? How do I upload the Tesla App and put it along side the others that you already loaded?

Great car

Very reliable so far. Efficiency is as described. Now with a NACS adapter not concerned about taking long trips. Rear motor drive is plenty powerful. Only real complaint is the front door panel tweeters are not very good on the SEL. Other speakers are good. Highway driving assist works great.
