Good car overall

The I5 is a fun, cool, and comfortable car. Given its fast charging capabilities, it makes EV driving accessible, even over longer distances. I really like the car. But, the ICCU reliability issues need to be addressed for future models.

2024 Ioniq 5 never again

Never again had it now for about 1.6 years. except for exterior styling this car is not worth it charging at low 60s and below is terrible slow even with pre-conditioning turn on; even in summer max is 244 for a 800 V car not impressive I-Pedal can’t be left on permanently some of the things I have issues with might not be only this model - Display (instrument cluster) is terrible – can I get the 5N version; speed indicator is hidden behind my left hand and not in center Wipers in back needed Door locking when leaving – at least setup for away from garage Better side mirrors (view is too limited) -worst ever Add more drivers with own profile (5 + guest); driver memory doesn’t include seats CarPlay is only available via usb cable and not in center console; Can’t permanently turn off AC /Heater (e.g. Spring and Fall) - will turn on by itself Front seats have no cooling, backseats neither cooling or heating Whole 2 paddle regenerative braking shifter system behind steering wheel messed up Lane control is unusable (straight works but curves or exits bring havoc) Phantom braking

Very Disappointed

I love driving the Ioniq 5....... when it starts. Consistent problems with the 12 VOLT battery going dead. No satisfaction with getting it resolved.

Love everything but the build quality

Great car overall, fun to drive and reliable. Love the seat comfort, great for long road trips and charges quickly. Software updates fixed one of my key issues with the car and it now provides an estimated state of charge at the destination when using the navigation system. We’ve had unresolved rattling issues, and the lack of wireless CarPlay and usb-c ports are surprising.

Ioniq 5 has major flaws

Design issues: no rear windshield wiper, back end that extends beyond the protection of the bumper, poor turning radius. Bad parts: 12 volt battery failed completely at 18 months (so car would not start), AC compressor required replacement at 20 months. Poor service: Hours to get a software recall update, no loaner cars, no transportation beyond five miles.

Best car I’ve ever owned

I love my Ioniq 5 more than any other car I’ve ever owned. A smoothness of the ride, the quiet interior, and the fantastic acceleration make it a joy to drive. Although the navigation software in my 2024 is not the greatest, that’s a minor annoyance, especially since the car has Apple CarPlay. My only hesitation concerns the ICCU issues that, well they have not affected me so far, are much too common. But for me, the car has been very reliable.

Disappointed

Had been receiving communication that service maintenance overdue, then vehicle status is good and no service needed, even the manual service schedule was not due and even service dealer agreed that service not due yet. Hyundai customer service just said ignore the overdue service necessary notices. But still getting conflicting messages from Hyundai

One of the biggest flaws is no rear wiper. The film on the windows makes it very difficult to see out of when it is dark and raining.

Small but spacious

Very compact car but the interior is surprisingly roomy. Dual motors give very sporty driving experience. Dual screens are great for control and entertainment. Three major issues; no rear wipers, no AC for 2nd row, windshield glass is very low quality.
