Great overall, but some issues are present

We really enjoy driving this car overall. It is fast, solid and comfortable. It does great in the snow, and is the beset car I've ever used for mountain driving. (I live in Colorado). Large back seat, adults actually like. Panoramic roof is super. The digital interface is an 8/10. One wish is that it would stay in the view that you left it when you turn the car off, but not the case. One downside is charging - while it is nice and fast, it can be tricky and confusing to get it started. I have also had a couple of times where I could not stop charging session, and had to use the door-unlock key on the car FOB to stop the session. Last, yes, I have the trunk latch rattle that many have experienced.

Ionia5

The battery performs poorly in the cold and at high speeds. The computer interface is clunky and sometimes shows bad design (for instance, don't try to start the heat/AC remotely while it is still plugged in--it won't allow you to unplug!). And the app associated with Hyundai is truly terrible. Otherwise it's a great car.

Everything is great except the apprehension

Everything has been great about the performance, features, and quality. Charging has been a breeze. My biggest complaint is the very large turning radius. My other complaint is nerves. For one thing, I like to use the i-pedal regen mode, and I don't know if it turns the brake lights on when I lift the accelerator. The other thing is always wondering if the ICCU will fail, as its reputation suggests it might.

Drives very well but I'm glad it's just a lease

The car drives really well, it's fast, and comfy. But it still need some work. There is no battery conditioning. If there is, it's hard to navigate it while driving to a charging station. Also, in one year there's already a battery issue. I'm glad it's just a lease.

Great first experience with electric car

Range and charge time are still concerns but not specific to this car. Good driving dynamics. The hatch clunks a bit over bumps though. Overly sensitive parking sensor beeps at traffic stops.

The Best Car I've Ever Driven

I love my 2024 Hyundai and only wish it had a couple of features that were added in the 2025 year: a rear windshield wiper and bluetooth connectivity to my phone. I love how it handles, how it feels, basically everything!

Like this car, but it has its quirks

The Ionic 5 is a great car to drive. The mileage isn't great, but it is workable, especially if you are not planning long road trips. It handles well, is quiet, and seems very well built. The quirks have more to do with service. I kept getting notices that service was due, but the dealer told me that was not the case. After I finally got the service, I kept getting notices that maintenance was required. It isn't. I contacted the company and it has been about a month and they have not resolved the problem. They said that it sometimes takes weeks to get a response, which is not at all satisfying. We were told that we would get an adaptor so that we could use other charger types. They said it would take a while, as they had to produce and distribute a large number of them. They said I should get it by or around December 1, 2025, but I haven't heard a word (as of January 8, 2026. I like this car and am glad I bought it, but the experience hasn't been perfect.
