Looks cool, happy with the battery, super annoyed by some quirks

People stop me to ask about my car, thinking it is something really special. The inside is comfortable. I only use anout 20% of the screen features and the navigation system is a waste (and incorrect more than it should be). The turning radius is too wide/weird. Why didn’t you put cup holders into the back seat? But my biggest gripe is the door locking issue- why can’t you lock the doors when one is open? This was obviously not designed by someone who has kids who take forever to get out of the car. I’d like to be able to press a button to lock the doors either from the door or the fob and know they would be locked, as long as the fob wasn’t inside the vehicle.

Great performance with reliability and comfort

This is the first EV I have driven. The response of the care is amazing. Very comfortable in all seats. I feel it is safe. The app is great and easy to use. As a novice EV driver, I almost immediately acclimated to so much communication and convenience with my car. Love that it charges so fast. Way faster than the other cars at the charging stations. I rented a gas car on a trip and was kind of miserable now that I have grown accustom to the quiet and comfortable drive. It's also easy to clean inside and out. Get a lot of compliments. Perfect blend of futuristic look, but also very practical.

Worth it because of the incentives.

I'm happy with the car as a lease. I doubt I would buy it out at the end. The paint chips too easy.

Love my New Ionic 5!

Overall I love the car. I’d been driving two Teslas for 7 years and was pleasantly surprised how the Ionic 5 compared. It’s a pleasure to drive and I look forward to road trips.

Nice comfortable & zippy car with industry leading superfast charging

We are coming from Tesla Model 3 which is great on electronics but is very uncomfortable and noisy. Ioniq 5 is very quiet, similarly zippy, super fast DC charging which saves time during long drives. It comes with some safety features as standard but you have to pay extra for blind spot camera and such which are standard on the Tesla. We love how roomier this is compared to our old Santa Fe.

Drive train is great infotainment system isn't.

I like the drive train. The infotainment system is poorly designed and requires taking your eyes off the road to switch from heat to AC or most other operations. Switching from Bluetooth to the radio is also really poorly designed. The back windows is always filthy because of the spoiler and lack of windshield wiper. Also the sensors are annoying, frequently warning of impending collision with no obstacles in sight. Parallel parking that requires a few adjustments is non stop beeping. When it's cold I get battery system errors the dealership said were not an issue.

Disappointing quality

We have had nothing but problems with our ioniq 5. Battery issues, constant check engine lights, AC failed, strange emergency braking while driving and random check sensor warnings. My wife avoids driving it at all costs, I hardly ever pick it over our other vehicles. It has left us stranded twice and the dealer just says it doesn’t have any problems when we bring it in. Can’t wait until the lease is up, we will not be keeping it.

A very reliable and a high quality EV !

A good ride, polished spacious interior, high end electronics, reasonable acoustics, but a very marginal User Interface. e.g. I can adjust my seats but cannot store settings into my memory while driving!! I have to switch my driving to one pedal each time I start the car!
