This car is affordable luxury with all the bells and whistles!

This car was my dream car for three years… And then it became my reality… And it did not disappoint! This car is solid and does not feel cheap at all. It drives so smoothly and has all the bells and whistles I could’ve hoped for and then some. The little touches they thought of really make a difference like the sliding center console. Super easy to control certain functions with the blue link app, like heating the car up in the winter time before I get to it or cooling it down in the summertime. I love this car so much and I’m excited to see what they’re going to do to improve it even more.

Such fun and practicality is great

I’ve had several sporty SUVs in the past, and this is the best of all worlds and the practicality and cost of it have been worlds above. I would have a hard time going back to an ice vehicle.

Lovin' it

I've had no problems with the vehicle since swapping out the original 12 volt battery. Works great in the snow in snow mode with winter tires. Handles very securely. The back windshield is useless in winter (2024 model which lacks a wiper) but by cleaning the backup and rear view camera each evening to remove salt and grime I'm able to back up securely. Rear trunk rattled but inserting rubber washers fixed that. Being primarily a motorcycle rider prior to owning the Ioniq, I gotta say it is the first car I've ever enjoyed driving since my first (an International Harvester Scout).

Good for a small town

This car is great for driving short distances. In cold, winter weather, the battery charge tops about at about 220 miles for 100% charge and it uses the charge more quickly so that a distance on 10 miles will use perhaps 15-20 ‘miles’ of the charge. Whereas in the warmer months, 100% charge is about 330 miles and 10 miles of distance will only cost about 8 -9 miles of the charged miles.

Worse Car ever

I now have a 2026 Ioniq 5 and so far so good. Most issues were engineered. The 2024 was horrible. V12 battery failed at 13,000 miles, 2 recalls Numerous ICCU issues. Electric water pimp failed. Did not have rear wiper so in heavy rain could not see out of rear window.

Wonderful with small irritations

Love the vehicle, with following irritations: 1. 12V battery dying, causing car not to start. Had to carry a jump start kit. 2. no ability to manually initiate battery pre-conditioning. Selecting charing station as destination doesn't always work, probably due to navigation not recognizing destination. Often charging station is less than 10 minutes away will not allow pre-condition to complete, I like to manually start pre-condition before heading to charger. 3. automatically lock doors when driver with keyfob is away from vehicle, instead of just repeatedly message me about door unlocked. This is annoying when parked in my home garage. 4. no 240V V2L. 5. huge depreciation.

Great overall as a vehicle. only complaints are interior build quality and software quirks, especially battery pre-conditioning.

Give user/owners control

Why won't car companies let the user/owners customize them to their own preferences? I hate the radar distance part of cruise control. Would've looked at Kia/Hyundai for second car, but this design flaw sent me elsewhere. I bought a Prius as this was the only company I could find that let me disable this 'feature.' Also, who was the idiot that failed to give the rear window a wiper until 2026? Giant fail. Customers increasing feel enslaved to the companies that should be serving them. Give is the power to customize our vehicles.

TOTAL LOSS from 18 wheeler head-on crash (semi at fault)

Accident happened on March 2024 at noon. My wife and I survived with massive injuries for my wife. I was told the only thing that saved us was the Ioniq5 and the battery's under the vehicle. Lawsuit in the words to settle crash and pay $1 million in doctor bills.
