Great….except for

Love the car except for 1 thing. The eye sensor on the cruise control. It does not work no matter what I do, how I sit, nothing. I have taken it to the dealer many times and they say it works. I’m tall and sit with the seat back pretty far and I think the camera can’t see that far back. It’s annoying to use the cruise control because it keeps dinging the whole time. Wish i could turn it off.

Super giddy-up, hidden flaws

My driving experience has been smooth so far. I'm sorry our current administration has turned its back on this industry. I'm not optimistic going forward in leasing a new vehicle at the end of my current term.

Not Reliable

Overall, I really like this car, but its reliability has been a serious problem because of ICCU and 12V battery issues. My car has been at the dealership for three days after a 12V battery warning appeared and the car stopped working. So far I haven’t received a diagnosis or any update on the cause. I enjoy driving it, but I’d have a hard time recommending it or buying another one, because I worry about being stranded somewhere remote if these issues come back. In addition, it doesn't feel great to continue paying monthly for a car I currently cannot drive.

RADIO - SHOULD BE EASY TO USE!

Car is great but why oh why do I have to sign off on a legal disclaimer every time I start the car before I get to listen to music?! Music should start when I start the car and it should START EXACTLY WHERE IT WAS SET when the car turned off not require screen changes and fat fingers to tap “favorites” buttons.

Great car - sold it because I was scared of the ICCU flaw

All the information about the ICCU flaw is on social media or other corners of the Internet. Hyundai seems to be mute in acknowledging the problem which made me scared the problem was far larger than I knew. So I sold the car at 19 months and bought a used BMW iX which was roughgly the same monthly price (albeit 2 years and 22K miles older) but at least I knew it didn't have a design flaw.

This car drives so smoothly and quietly. It is a pleasure to drive. The only downside is that the backseats are not really roomy enough for our tall children

Excellent car with some annoying features

Overall the Ioniq 5 is a great car. It's been reliable, it performs well, and it's comfortable. But it has some user interface features that are annoying, and in some cases dangerous. First, the car does not remember where I leave the iPedal regenerative braking setting, so I have to reset it every time I drive. Worse, though, is that when I put the iPedal all the way up for one-pedal driving, the car overrides this decision every time I change gears. So when I put the car in reverse for a three-point turn, and then back into drive, the car has changed my iPedal setting so that the brakes are behaving differently then I set them to behave and the car unexpectedly rolls forward when I expect it to brake. Second, when I am at a stop and switch from drive to reverse, if my foot is not on the pedal, the car does not simply alert me and stay in gear, it bizarrely switches to Neutral, so I have no powered control over the vehicle in any direction. This is dangerous. Third, the sensors for blind spots and cross-traffic when backing up are so overly sensitive that we've been conditioned to ignore them because they are so often false positives.

Solid EV

I haven't had any issues with my 2025 Ioniq 5. The user controls and displays are very functional and look good. Charging at home is cheap and efficient. Plug and Play charging on the road with Tesla Superchargers is very convenient.

Beautiful car, terrible service

I purchased this car in September of 2025. The 110 charger was faulty. It took 3 weeks for me to get a replacement, meanwhile my only avenue for charging was commercial. Later took the car for it's first service, was told the air ducts were mice infested, charged $1100 to clean them. 2nd service same problem, charged $250 to clean them. Had a rattle I needed repaired. Was told I needed to leave the car for the day at the dealership and that they couldn't give me a car but I could rent one and be reimbursed. Got the rental and the car was ready an hour after renting the car. Brought the car back for the "repair", it was kept for 3 days before returning it to me (another rental) and remained unprepared. Took the car for service a third time, waited in the waiting room for 5 hours. When I asked what the service was, it was rotating the tires... and I made an appointment! The final straw was after 13 months and 27,000 miles the 12 volt battery failed. Had to have the car towed to the dealer, took them 5 hours to evaluate, and couldn't repair because by the time it was evaluated the parts department was closed. This was on a weekend so they kept the car until Monday and still didn't have it repaired until 3 pm on Monday. Traded the car in for a Toyota CHR on Tuesday.

Love the car. Looks great. The only improvements I would recommend would be: - Ventilated seats - lose the hard cheap plastic on the doors and dash - remove the piano black trim for something that reflects the futuristic look

An excellent car for the money.

The ride, technology and accessibility of the features is wonderful. The price point is excellent for such a nice EV. We would definitely buy another. The only issue is the turning radius. It doesn’t turn sharp enough so certain things require 3 point turns. Other than that, we’re in love.

Exceeded my expectations

We are very please with this car so. We have had our 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 SEL dual-motor for over a year now and have been very pleased with it. It is very comfortable and suprisingly spacious inside. It is quiet with surprisingly good road and wind noise isolation, which makes it very comfortable for long trips. The battery range is predictable and reliable and charging is fast. NACS port is a plus alllowing us to use it at many Tesla superchargers.

Great vehicle with the potential to be perfect

The 2025 Ioniq 5 is great! With the Limited trim, the ventillated seats and moonroof make for a comfortable, relaxing experience. Built in wireless CarPlay works perfectly with the iPhone. Unfortunately, the built-in phone charging mat is of either poor design or poor quality and is pretty much unusable, and having the possibility of unexpected ICCU failure does detract somewhat from the expreience.

Great car with fatal flaw and crappy dealers and service

I love my Ioniq but the worry about and experience with ICCU failure means I wouldn't get another one. Also your dealers are pretty awful, at least Hanless is. The service department of the wrong tower on my car and then took two weeks to fix it and when my ICCU failed they said that they volleyball even see the car for 4 weeks. I'm now only working with the Concord dealership and at least their service department seems competent.
