Overall good design and performance, with a few undesirable behaviors
There is a lot I like about the vehicle, it drives well, is intuitively laid out and is comfortable. A few key items that I would love to see improved (maybe by software update?)
1. Allow me to separately control safety alerts and responses. On multiple occasions automatic safety control features have at minimum been a nuisance, but in at least one case created a dangerous situation so I have disabled them. Unfortunately, this also seems to disable alerts, which I would prefer to retain even if I don't want the car braking for me.
- The dangerous situation is when pulling out of a parallel parking spot, the car sensed another vehicle in the blind spot (which I had seen, but was moving at a speed such that I had enough time to safely enter the roadway). The car automatically applied the brakes, stranding me more than halfway into the lane in the middle of the flow of traffic. Luckily the car behind was paying attention and applied the brakes and didn't hit me (it couldn't have swerved out of the way due to cars in the left turn lane), but the "safety" feature definitely put me in harms way, where I otherwise would've safely entered the flow of traffic.
- The nuisance version which also comes to mind is also in a parallel parking spot, as I was what should've been a ~3 point turn to exit a spot, the car applied the brakes suddenly while I was backing up with about at least foot of distance to the other cars bumper. This behavior changed what should've been a 3 point turn to a 7 point turn as it robbed me of a couple feet of room I could've otherwise used in the maneuver.
2. Would love to be able to access/ download and archive the data in the EV history screen. Also would be great if I could set one of the custom keys to go straight to that screen.
3. We keep getting an alert to check assistant related things, but no real specifics on what to check/where.
4. Allow persistence of i-pedal settings with a specific driver profile. If I want to always or usually do one peddle drive, having it reset to level 3 each time I start the car is not only annoying, but possibly dangerous (the driver may get used to the level of deceleration in i-pedal, and not brake enough after it resets to level 3).
5. Turn on the last used audio source when loading a profile (I like that android audio is available right when I turn the car on, but I usually listen to the radio, so it's annoying to have to change source every time.
6 I've tried the auto lane keeping, and it needs a little work as it sways back and forth in the lane a bit, and initiate the turn a little late going into curves.
7. WiFi would be a nice feature, if it wasn't locked to a specific carrier. It is infuriating to me when car manufacturers do this. I have chosen my cellular carrier for my own reasons, and would love to use the WiFi feature if I could add it to my existing plan. Providing this feature unlocked from the carrier (using either sim or esim), would make it useful, however I will not, however, open a new, separate plan with a different carrier just to have wifi from the car, making the feature completely useless. This also applies to the case where I might use the carrier today, but decide to change carriers in the future for any of the valid and personal reasons one may choose to do (join a work or family plan, better coverage in area, better pricing or options, better performance, etc).
