Great with one exception

The driver eye attention doesn't work well with my glasses and if I shift my posture. It is amazingly comfortable and roomy. It's my first ev and the quiet ride is a delight.

HV battery issues under 1200 miles, horrible customer service

This is our 5th Hyundai. Our brand-new Ioniq 5 reported HV battery errors after just 2 months of ownership and 1,195 miles. It has now been at the dealership for 75 days with no determination. They have not responded to my weekly requests for an update for the past 5 weeks. Nothing. Hyundia corporate has been no help for the past 4 weeks. Each call they say they don't have an update but will call back in a week. To top it off there is a tech service bulletin for the exact error, symptoms and VIN of our vehicle. Yet the dealer tells us they have to wait for Hyundai Corp to tell them what to do, and they haven't called them back in 6 weeks supposedly.

Almost perfect

Great car. I love the changes from previous years. Easier to do stuff. I do wish there were knobs for adjusting temperature. And I hate that deep hangover on the window. Taps dirt and hard to clean.

Excellent overall though on the expensive side

I love this car overall. The quality is great, the ride is smooth and enjoyable. I love getting in and driving anytime I can. The physical aspects of the car are excellent, and above Tesla in quality and design. I have to say how much I appreciate physical controls, I do NOT wanrt the screen to be the only way I control basic things, I want to DRIVE this car. But the software side is behind. Over the air updates are very infrequent and clunky, it's clear Tesla has a solid decade head start here. I hope Hyundai really pushes hard in this area. Software aside I can't say enough great things about this car!

Great car but requires work on some features

Its a great car to drive, quite, comfortable and fast enough. Forward attention warning needs a rework, It complains about my sunglasses, I shouldnt change my sunglasses just because my car doesnt like them. I like my glasses and I will keep them. If I'm on reverse gear, stop beeping for forward collision. Show the warning on the screen but please stop beeping because the car think I will hit my garage door, I'm on reverse gear. HDA2 is doing fabulous job on highway but in the city it requires more training. If the road splits into the lane, %90 it follows the wrong line, like here in my area, if you are going to make left lane, you can use center lane to make your turn. The car tries to merge into the center lane for some reason instead of going keep straight.

Impressive vehicle

I have not owned the vehicle very long and we've put about 2000 miles on the car. It's fun and quiet to drive and has performed flawlessly. I am tall and I wish I had another inch of headroom, including the height of the door opening. Other than that, no complaints. My wife and I are both driving this car now and our other car, also a Hyundai, is starting to gather dust. It would have been nice to have the automated feature that remembered seat settings, but that is not available on the SEL.

Better software integration

A solid EV, but the software integration and user interface compared to my prior Tesla lacks. Why can't I select my default drive mode? How do I find the latest OTA update? Why can't I stop charging from the port? Or from inside the car? After two months I still struggle to find menus and maximize the capability of the car. It's all software so why not give the driver more customization if they want it?

We love the car but public charging with either Chagepoint or Tesla either does not work or stops charging. We understand that others have also had this problem

Almost as good as a Tesla

Regenerative braking is weak, unlike Tesla. Also I Petal regenerative braking must be selected each time a drive selection is chosen. Tesla I Petal regeneration mode is permanent until chosen otherwise.

Most fun car I've owned

This car is a ton of fun to drive. It's smooth, responsive, and quiet. My minor complaints are sometimes the infotainment system glitches out and loses connection to my phone, and the sound system isn't a super high quality.

Issues with charging at home and at public chargers

I have had significant issues with charging my car since I purchased it. I believe the dealership has finally corrected the problem but it did not get me off to a very good start.

Frustrated with your employees knowledge

The vehicle seems to be an excellent product, but learning how to use it is frustrating. Both your sales and service employees don't seem ready to help owners of all-electric cars. We were told our TESLA cord would charge it easily. Wrong! Doesn't work... why? No one knows. No one had an answer to help us figure it out. We researched and had to spend $300.00 on a cord to charge it at home. Functional features... sales and service employees aren't knowledgable regarding the IONIQ5. Help!
