Ioniq 5 2026

Car is an updated version of our 2023 AWD Lim, which we liked despite needing its 12v battery changed three times! The 2026 car , also lim but RWD, handles well and has about 15% better range. Still having difficulties in locking or unlocking car due to? Blue tooth issues. Will be making appointment at dealership to investigate.

Love driving it, small gripes

The car drives beautifully, excellent pickup. Love the interior and the features. 3 small gripes: 1. When slowly pulling up to a stop light, the car’s acceleration kicks in just before the car comes to a complete stop. It jolts me and feels like I was rear ended. 2. When cosmetic add-ons are available for the console (as in a “charlie brown” infotainment theme), the notifications are highly disruptive. You can’t use navigation till you clear it and it keeps popping up every time i start the car. Feels spammy. 3. The lane change and back up protection features are AGGRESSIVE. Really unpleasant to have the car slam on the breaks while backing out of a parking space because a car happens to be driving past the lot. The beeps when merging are annoying and actually encourage me to turn on my blinker later than I would normally prefer.

Thoughtfully built and a dream to drive

This car is such a pleasure to drive. Smooth and quiet and semi-autonomous cruise control really helps to reduce stress when driving long distances. The range is great and the car is built to keep you safe in so many ways. We are pleased.

My Second Ionic 5 Better than first

I think my 2026 was built at Georgia facility...much higher level of fit and finish. Love the car. Fun to drive. Hmmmmm...not a single negative I can think of. Oh yeah, had trouble getting CarPlay to work but eventually figured it out.

Interior is great. Drive train and exterior are ok.

Looks better on the inside than the outside. Traction control intermittently stops functioning causing the car to swerve.

Review - 2026 Ioniq 5 SEL - white

Overall happy with the car. I did notice after having it about one month an obvious paint defect in one area near charging port which appears to be a circular area about 2 inches diameter where there is no clearcoat and appears dull/not shiny. Don’t know how that passed quality control.
