What a wonderful E.V.!

not just a well made E.V. with great charging speed and range, but also the most luxurious & comfortable car I've ever had. It helps that is has AWD, a very low center of gravity & a lovely wide stance.

Built Like a Car, Drives like an EV

The Ioniq 5 is built with all the creature comforts you find in mid-range luxury cars, but it has the advantage of being fully electric. The only flaw I have found is there is no trash bin. I wish Hyundai sold a bin that can fit in the console under the dashboard. That space is underutilized for storage.

Love the car but some human interface features can be annoying

Pleasure to drive - this is my second ioniq 5 - but the drive attention warning almost drove me crazy and for the life of me I can figure out the Auto Unlock settings.

Fantastic First EV with Great Handling and Range

I bought my 2026 IONIQ 5 new and have thoroughly enjoyed owning it. It’s an ideal first electric vehicle—charging speeds and everyday range have been very dependable, and the handling around town is responsive and engaging. My only minor critique is that it can occasionally feel slightly light or unsteady at higher highway speeds or in crosswinds. Overall, it has been a fantastic daily driver, practical, and a pleasure to own.

Temperature and air flow design flaw. Very hard to see.

Major design flaw. Particularly when it is sunny I cannot see the controls for temperature and air flow. It is dangerous to try to figure them out. I have never owned a car where this is a consideration. Go back to real buttons and knobs. Also that the air conditioning failed within two weeks is not okay. And I’m told this is a known problem. Fix it.

Great EV, great drive quality, but car has too many quirks

The car drives great, has great EV range, overall I'm pleased. But there are too many annoying software quirks. And while they're small things, they add up and are generally make the annoying. To name a few: you can't assign driver settings to a key (so the car will randomly select a user profile every time you get in), doors don't auto lock (so if you forget to lock them, car just stays unlocked forever), loading user profiles takes a long time (expect to stare at the loading screen for 10 seconds before you can even get driving), the rear seat heater button is on the door, and gets accidentally pushed all the time.

Excellent all-around new car.

This car is now our top pick for our road-trip and car-pool needs, due to it's comfort and large internal volume. We love the leg room, cargo room, and heated/ventilated seats. The car is comfortable with four large adults and a full load of gear. It has a few build quality issues.
