Great Vehicle, Frustrating Driver Profiles and Key Fob
As a car, this is a great vehicle. The range, performance, ride quality and fit/finish is above average, especially for the price.
Coming from a 2024 model, the addition of a rear wiper is very appreciated, the suspension is greatly improved (but still skittish over bumps at highway speed).
A few issues remain with software / technology that make the ownership experience suboptimal
1. The lack of keyfob tied driver profiles is PAINFUL. The very slow speed of the dashboard based driver selection / confirmation is among the worst I have experienced. It will be the first thing I evaluate on a future purchase and is enough to ensure I would not buy this year model at lease end.
2. The wireless Android Auto is very impressive - fast to connect and reconnect. The issue is the wireless charging pad offering no active cooling - this makes the wireless charge unusable for more than 30mins before it causes a phone to start limiting performance or even shutting down.
3. The keyfob is unnecessarily large and bulky without any added functional benefit. Your product team only need to look at the after market in 3D printed fobs to realize how hated this is. Too large to carry.
