Love my Sante Fe hybrid

The Hyundai Santa Fe hybrid is one of the best vehicles I have owned. I’ve had the Hyundai palisade, Lexus RX 350 for my first six vehicles in the last 40 years. The Hyundai Santa Fe hybrid is no disappointment.

Love my 2025 Santa Fe Hybrid SUV

I love my vehicle. People will stop me and say what kind of car is that? It’s sharp! So it has the looks. It’s full of luxury and safety features. Some people hear it running and ask if it’s electric. Other people when they ask about it I tell them it’s a hybrid and I typically get over 30 mpg.

My Fourth Hyundai Santa Fe

We are loyal Hyundai customers. We purchased our new Santa Fe Hybrid in December. After our first oil change at the dealership we have had an ongoing issue with lurching and deceleration when getting up to speed on the highway. The first time we tried to reach 45mph on a highway that runs through town, the car began to decelerate down to 30 while the gas pedal was depressed to the floor. We made an appointment with the service department at the dealership. It was parked the rest of the day, and the next day it seemed fine so we drove it to the dealership without an issue. They couldn't pull any codes or replicate the problem so we drove it home and chalked the problem up to a fluke. Weeks later while on a busy bypass while trying to accelerate to 65mph it lunched and dropped to 36mph. I was almost rear ended. Later a friend's husband drove it to our home and couldn't accelerate to 45 without it stuttering or lurching. We made an appointment at the dealership with service department again. A few days later we thought we would try driving it to drop off at the dealership prior to the appointment. Town driving seemed fine, but when I got onto the highway it again decelerated when we tried to go from 60 mph to 70. With the gas pedal fully depressed it lunched or stuttered and dropped to 36 mph. At this point we pulled off onto the shoulder and called roadside assistance to tow it to the dealership. The vehicle has been in the service department for almost 2 weeks and we received a call today that again they were not able to pull codes or replicate the issue. They informed us that without a code or the problem being duplicated there is nothing they can do for us.They asked if I would like to come drive it with the technician as a passenger so I could "make it do what it has been doing". This is a random problem that we do not know how to initiate, it just happens with no forewarning. We are highly disappointed as Hyundai has been a go to vehicle for us for years. We have referred many people to the dealership we purchase vehicles at because of how impressed we have been with the salespeople, the service department, and the vehicles. The frustration of buying a new vehicle and having ongoing issues with deceleration that poses a huge safety issue is disheartening. If we cannot get real resolution for our issues we have no choice but to end our years long relationship with Hyundai .

Hybrid Santa Fe review

The gas mileage is good and it’s very spacious with lots of safety feature. The quality of the door handles and plastic features feel cheap and there is rattling when you drive. I think they should use higher quality materials, but I understand the trade-off for a reasonably priced vehicle.

Stay away from hybrid model

Loses power on hills and major roads, requiring to pull car over and let recharge for over 20 minutes. The vehicle has been at dealership for over 1.5 months with no resolution in sight. Hyundai does not want yo hear about my concerns regarding safety after this has occurred multiple of times.

2025 Limited Hybrid

Bought new and love the comfort and handling of drive. Adding sport/ Eco/ and my drive is fun change of pace when want something different. Infotainment system and speaker are great. Love the large touch screen. Tan interior really looks great. Only downsides are very rear occupants have not a lot of space plus A/C vents are not great back there. Also, being hybrid wish fuel efficiency was a little better.

Do not buy

My car is a little over a year old and I have had to replace the fuel pump twice. I do not trust this car for my long commutes. Not only the fuel pump but the passenger seat squeaks loudly. Tires only lasted 20 k miles. I have never owned a car with so many problems.
