Love the cars handling and pickup when accelerating.comfortable and quiet.controls are in a good spot on steering wheel but the gear shift takes a little adjustment.The only change is in the radio layout of SXM Sirius which is difficult to navigate . Love the cars handling though all around .

We took the brand new hybrid on a trip to the Tennessee mountains. The hybrid feature is good because it would help us propel up the mountains and it didn’t hesitate at all. I was getting. 44.7 miles most of the trip.

nicely done, but cheaply built

After spending time with my Hyundai Tucson Hybrid 2026 SEL Convenience, I have mixed feelings. First, credit where it’s due—Hyundai absolutely nailed the styling. The exterior design is sharp, modern, and stands out on the road, and the interior tech and layout feel upscale and futuristic. The hybrid powertrain also delivers solid torque, and the vehicle feels quick, smooth, and confident to drive, especially merging or climbing mountain roads here in Utah. That said, once you start living with the car, some compromises become noticeable. While the design looks premium, a lot of the materials feel cheaply built. The dashboard, interior door panels, and especially the cargo side panels scratch incredibly easily, which is disappointing for a vehicle in this price range. It looks great at first glance, but the durability of some interior materials doesn’t match the premium appearance. My biggest disappointment has been the fuel economy. One of the main reasons I chose a hybrid was expecting a noticeable improvement in MPG, but honestly, I’m not seeing much of a difference. Eco mode doesn’t seem to deliver significantly better mileage compared to the other drive modes, and overall, the fuel consumption feels very similar to my regular Volkswagen Tiguan—which defeats part of the purpose of going hybrid. Overall, I really enjoy the power, technology, and both the interior and exterior design. It’s a fun, comfortable, and attractive SUV. But for buyers expecting premium material quality and a major jump in fuel savings, it may not fully live up to those expectations. I’d rate it 7/10—great design and performance, but material quality and real-world hybrid efficiency leave room for improvement.

Review of vehicle and experience at Nucar in North Kingstown RI.

There is a lot to like about this vehicle. However, at 4200 miles pronounced rattling began. Sounds like both passenger side doors. Dealership has yet to respond, as promised, with a work date. Dealership also owes me $187 since March 4, 2026. The vehicle was delivered on January 2, 2026, but the title has yet to appear. Given the forgoing, I will NOT be recommending the vehicle or the Nucar dealership. Instead, I will be repeating this message to about 3,000 of my followers on Facbook.

First 3000 miles in Tucson

Smart Cruise = many issues, should be allowed to turn "smart?" off and go to regular cruise. Mine is very inconsistent with distance operation. Sensor issues with lane changing and auto braking = operating at the wrong times. Sensors for "Auto wipers" very inconsistent. Issues with Mapping guidance taking me to wrong location. + more issues..........

Would be a fantastic car.. if you could lock the doors by pressing the inside lock button when exiting the car; and the rear turn signal lights were higher (by the brake lights).

Great Features

Great look. Great features. But it's a big learning curve. There's nothing "intuitive" about it. Will have to watch some online videos to figure things out. It's done fairly good with the mileage. Highway driving is between 30 - 32 mpg, while local driving is 36 - 38 mpg.

I love my car

I love my Tucson. I looked at cars for 3 years, it came down to a CR-V, Sportage, or the Tucson. I test drove this car and knew it was the car for me. It has great power from the hybrid system, you can go 0 to 60 in like 8 seconds. It has great safety features on all models and it looks the best out of all the SUV’s I looked at. I love my car! I put custom wheels on mine :)

If only it had folding mirrors...

Mostly good although the infotainment screen occasionally goes wonky. My largest negative is that it does not have folding side mirrors. I have a very narrow garage and had to replace the side mirror twice on my previous (2023) Tucson. I have the top-of-the-line 2026 Tucson Hybrid and I was hoping the updated model would have power folding mirrors as does the new Kia Sportage. Basically the same company...why omit them?

Mostly satisfied customer.

Our biggest complaint is the seat positioning. The seat does not move back far enough on exiting and moves to the last position on entering. I'm over 6 feet tall and my wife is 5 feet tall. It's very uncomfortable when the seat goes to her seat position.

Disappointed

Gas mileage is not as advertised for Tucson Hybrid. Averages 19 mpg! Car hum when in reverse is TOO LOUD! It’s embarrassing and it’s making me want to trade car in already! Neighbors are complaining about noise. My boss complained about noise! Cheap interior. All plastic! Heated seats barely work. No locks on back doors which is safety hazard. Screen reflects in driver’s side window. Vents too low in car and too loud. Not enough compartment space. No compartment for sunglasses. Glove box too small and cheap door that doesn’t fully shut. Cup holders hold nothing. Middle console should be able to elevate … it is obstructing EVERYTHING and not user friendly. Just takes up space that you cannot use. Blind spots on dash because the plastic sides of windshield are too wide. Back seat has NO compartments on doors but small holes for a tiny water bottle. Also back arm rest with cup holders goes down too far making it unusable. Trunk is poorly designed because huge round protruding obstructions on each side affecting the width. No trunk cover. Back windshield is too slanted and too small. Back camera not effective .. should have sensor when backing up.
