Great mileage! but some cruise control issues

I have been an avid and frequent cruise control user for 20-30 years. Last car was a 2012, now all the "safety" features "for me" are not that truly in some cases. I infrequently use the cruise control anymore, has too many errors as far as I'm concerned. The slowing down because someone else in front of me is going slower is annoying, but getting used to watching for it. BUT, with no traffic in front of me, but some crosses in front of me, going my speed or faster, changing to another lane on opposite side, causes my car to suddenly slow, even though car was smooth in transition and has been gone for 1-2 seconds. THEN it hits the brakes. Eventually I will be rear ended, as this will cause someone that may be following too close, to have no warning or see any cause why I hit my brakes!

Spacious but lacking in other features

The 2026 Hyundai Tucson has a nice interior look, lots of cargo space, but is a big drop off in performance and features compared to my previous vehicle, which was a luxury SUV. My biggest complaints are its total lack of zippiness and giddy up, which is really needed for city driving, and no front or back parking sensors.

I am the co-signer for the Tucson. The major creditor/leasee is Margaret M. Massaro. Please straighten this out. Perhaps I should go to the dealer (Marhofer Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio) to iron this out?

Mostly pleased

Overall pleased with my Tucson. Comfortable and nice drive. However, not sure why things like cruise and volume control had to switch sides from previous Hyundai vehicles. Also, I am happy that Hyundai offers so many safety features, however we should have the option to turn them off permanently and not have to do it every time we start the car. This includes the automatic shutoffs during brief stops, like at a stoplight.

Initial perceptions about my 2026 Hyundai Tuscon

I will rate this car based on only driving 1400 miles so far, so still a lot to learn about how it functions. The true test of a great car is how well it lasts over time. There is a point where too many electronics is just too many. Likes: 1) the look and feel of the car; comfortable and good size. 2) the car prestart and A/C cooling is a nice feature. 3) lighting is good 4) like the blind spot indicators Dislikes: 1)hesitation when stepping on the gas; I don't like this because I was driving a 6 cyl car that had more power so I have to drive differently when not having the speed pickup. I haven't tried driving in sport mode, but guess it eats more gas when doing so. 2) i miss not having memory seats; should have checked for that option; should be a standard option while dropping less used options 3) Hate the Lane LKA assist - turned it off...too many potholes to miss and don't want car to drive for me 4) hate the auto stop (where car shuts off at stoplights).. doesn't save enough gas to make it worth it and seems a strain on the starter. 4) don't like the FWA, having a camera in my face... the FWA limitations are ridiculous. 4) The car would be $4,000 cheaper if you removed all the things that people rarely or never use. Too many controls. I don't want a driverless car and the new cars seem to be trying to move in that direction.

very modern - consumes more gas vs 2010.

I loved the interior design. I loved that the volume and temperature bottoms are back. That is the reason I selected the car. However, compared to my Tucson 2010. The consumption of gas feels almost double. I do see the tank fills up to 377miles where as the 2010 filled up to 437miles. Although the specs say the tank difference is only 0.2 gallons.

Technology Lives here

We were looking for a car with the latest technology in HUD, cameras, and driver assistance. After way more research than we usually do Hyundai stood out as unique in an industry eager to push expensive EV / Hybrid solutions and make up for that cost by ripping out comfort and convenience features. The Tucson is practically unique right now in the industry because you can have the same futuristic car as either ICE or Hybrid. I love this solution! Let the customer buy the car they want to own, not just the car you want to build. My only complaint is the Lane Keep Assist doesn't work very well. It insists on driving right on the right edge of the road, far right of center. With electronic unerring precision it never drives off, but it is very disconcerting and apparently "working as designed". I'm hoping someone will find the software bug and a recall will fix this.

Perfect - Minus Lack of Privacy

I love this car. I love everything about it, except for the front-facing camera that is meant for "driver attention". It feels EXTREMELY invasive, and had I realized this was a feature I would've second-guessed purchasing my vehicle. Especially knowing about some upcoming policy changes that are being made in the US regarding AI and facial recognition. There are other privacy concerns as well. Please consider disabling this feature. Protect your customers and their privacy.
