Small but spacious

Very compact car but the interior is surprisingly roomy. Dual motors give very sporty driving experience. Dual screens are great for control and entertainment. Three major issues; no rear wipers, no AC for 2nd row, windshield glass is very low quality.

Drive experience, great, dealership and corporate not so much

I have enjoyed driving this vehicle. It has power and is comfortable. Lots of bells and whistles that assist in the driving experience. However, the purchase experience at the dealership was quite stressful with a lot of gameplay. Corporate is not very customer satisfaction focused. Making an offer that you don’t follow through with is not good business in my book. Local dealership, automated email blasts are common, but when they ask a question, expecting comments from you and then do not reply back ever, what is the point? Bottom line, great drive experience, poor dealership and corporate experience. Also, DMV fees are much higher for EV’s which I was not made aware of and was a shocker when I got my second year DMV Bill.

Great acceleration but lots of small issues

I love the acceleration, very smooth. But the drive is noisy and there's a rattle in the back. The dashboard and electronics are not user friendly. The car is much wider than the last Hyundai I drove, which was an unwelcome surprise.

Quiet. Smooth. Great acceleration. No rear window wiper- you’ve got to be kidding! Winter “mileage” needs serious attention!

Worst Car for me

As a renter I can’t recommend this car. If you own a home is car is probably a lot better. Charging is hard especially if I want to use the free pass that the car came with. It’s uncomfortable to drive more than thirty minutes. Everyone that I’ve let drive it hates to sit in it skinny to obese. Passengers do not want to ride in this car. Charge lasts for about 100 miles before charging it again. Again if I was a homeowner wouldn’t be much of an issue. If you love to drive don’t get this car. Has so many quirks that it makes it hard to go anywhere or let anyone else drive. Can’t just go for a ride anymore. I’ve had it for a year and just crossed the 6200 miles before mark. In my last car I drove 40,000 miles in two years. Tried calling within the first month to see what I could do about getting out of the lease and was ignored by the dealership and told to cough up 40k by finance. Got it on a deal and I can see why they are handing these out like candy. I never want another Hyundai again.

Awesome car, with only 2 slight complaints

Super fun to drive, problem free, comfortable, sporty, it's all good. I'd highly recommend the Ioniq 5 to anyone, with just 2 slight caveats that I hope the engineers will read: 1) My trim level does not have a rear wiper. I didn't notice or think about it at the time, but it is actually a much bigger issue than it sounds. The Ioniq's rear tires are about as far back on the chassis as they can get, which is great for stability, performance, and handling, but having the wheels so far back kicks up a lot of road dirt and grime onto the rear window. Without a rear wiper, it can be very hard to see out the rear window. If I clean it manually, it's dirty again within just a few miles. EVERY trim level of the Ioniq 5 should have a rear wiper as standard equipment. 2) The door handles are goofy. Yes, I've gotten used to them and they're not horrible, but I pine for normal door handles sometimes. Apart from those two slight nits, everything with the Ioniq has been awesome. Love this car!

MKB 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 Review

A FANTASTIC EV, unbelievably reliable, with very view improvements needed. 4 improvements are definitely needed, 2 of which have already been made to later versions: 1. Rear window wiper (is now on 2025 & later models). 2. Charging port door cover cannot be opened for charging without using the FOB (latest models, 2025 on), allow the cover to be opened by physically pressing the cover. 3. The electrical charging connector cover is difficult to remove to be able in connect the charging cable (sensibly redesigned with the 2025 model). 4. The battery status reflecting the amount of charge remaining in the battery needs to be displayed in the top of the LED display screen, instead of the bottom of the screen.

I had done my DD on the EVs in the market in 2024... And chose the 2024 Ionic 5. The car has performed as expected. There were no gotchas or surprises. Very satisfied with the performance of this EV.

Good Drive, No tech

The car is good to drive, Smooth but lacks tech features and hence is annoying at this age of technul upgrades available in competition. Infotech is normal at best

Great car that is comfortable and fun but has 12 volt battery issues

Vehicle looks good, inside and out, drives really well with excellent handling and acceleration. However, it has recurring issues with the 12 volt battery which completes discharges while the vehicle is parked. It has been in the shop for this issue 5 times for a total of more than 6 weeks.

It's a great car.

Love the car. Wish it were a little more intuitive for those of us born before the digital age. Hard to know which buttons do what, and sometimes, especially on the steering wheels hard to see the "buttons." PS Why no rear windshield wiper?
