Great car with some issues
There are some issues, all the same as on my 2023 Ioniq 5. 1. I turned off the lane assist because it makes it difficult to change lanes. At least 90% of the time, a alert appears because I "didn't meet the necessary criteria." The only reason that's true is because the car forced me back into the original lane! 2. In spite of turning off the lane assist, it turns itself on about half the time I engage cruise control! 3. The navigation is pathetic. Time and time again it tells me to turn left or right at HOSPITAL! When it isn't hospital, it's some other ridiculous thing. I presume it's reading a random sign. Even worse, the correct direction (turn right or left) is stated but the road is totally wrong. For example, "turn right at Ridge Rd" is actually a turn on Route 17! There is no Ridge Road withing a three mile radius. This last comment is something that hasn't happened on this 2024 (though I'm holding my breath, hoping it doesn't during my lease)... The ICCU has failed on my 2023 Ioniq 5. I drove 30+ miles to my friend's house with no problem. It was quite cold so I remote started the car, again with no issue. I got in the car about 10 minutes later. I pulled away; within a minute I got a notice on the dash that I have limited power. Less than a minute later it said the 12 volt battery is failing (I don't recall exactly what it said). Seconds later it said to pull over and park the car. The battery was dead at this point. No notice that there was a problem with the battery on my 30+ mile drive. One minute it's fine and another it's dead. Not only did I have to pay for an Uber, but a tow back to my local dealership because Hyundai won't pay for such a long tow. How can there be no warning? To make things even worse, I researched this problem and it's not uncommon at all. Why hasn't this been addressed? If not addressed, there should at least be a fund that pays for out of pocket expenses incurred by owners who have to deal with this.
