A Good First Generation

The lack of a rear wiper is more annoying with each rain - my 2007 Toyota Yaris has a rear wipe on the base package. The SEL should have had that on day 1. The "Confirm" button every time the car starts up is moronic. If I am driving a car, regardless of the power source, I am responsible for the safe operation of the car. Having a prompt screen on ever start is maddening and needless. The Hyundai phone applications Terms of Service are horrific. There is no reason I should have to accept a ToS just to see the status of the vehicle I purchased. We don't use the application in our family. There need to be fewer haptic and more physical interfaces for climate control The car drives very well however and is quite a quiet and pleasant place to be when driving. All things that makes an EV pleasant to drive are present (at least to our family), so overall we are fairly happy.

Love my second Ioniq 5!

I was in love with my 2022 Ioniq 5 from day one and I am just as excited about my second one! Compliments all the time from strangers and I’m seeing more and more of them on the road. There’s a reason. It’s not just about Top 10 this and that….it is a joy to drive, charges faster than other cars, and is luxurious in an elegantly casual way. And my range is even better with the new model. Also, mist comfortable car I’ve ever had for my bad back!

Great vehicle - potential ICCU problems are scary

I so far love the vehicle. the biggest issue is fear of an ICCU failure - which has not happened, but is reported commonly.

Exceeds expectations, software and dash layout confusing.

Generally very happy with car and features, but there are some annoying aspects with the software and I really don't understand why there isn't a rear window wiper!!! The software lets me change everything except the things I want: 1) center the speed (MPH) display, 2) set default regen level or have it revert to last setting on start, 3) can't set Climate as option for STAR button, 4) media source should be an option on ALL media screens, 5) trip settings are clunky and hard to find, 6) why are there Map AND Nav buttons??? they can be combined, 7) I prefer a dial display for MPH right in the middle of the dash, 8) the rear view mirror is too dark and the rear view camera just doesn't look right - my eyes don't focus on it immediately when I look at it and I have to stare at it before everything comes in to focus. Others who have driven the car say the same thing. In general, the same information is displayed in too many places. Why?

I only had the car for a month or so when it had a major battery system issue. The car has now been in the shop for a month, and I miss it very much.
