FUN to drive. Had ICCU failure. Cut out the subscriptions!

I absolutely love to drive this car. The only two things that concern me are: ICCU failure & the monthly subscription fee. You shouldn't have to pay to get all the features of a $60k+ car.

Overall good, but a few concerns

Overall I've enjoyed the car. I'm a little over 34k miles on it now, and will need a set of tires soon. The original 12v battery failed just shy of the 2 year mark, and was a little disappointed that there was no warranty coverage for that given the ICCU recalls. I do worry about that failing completely at some point given some of the reviews I've seen.

Over rated

I Like my vehicle but public charging system awful and unreliable that having an electric vehicle for anything that city driving is useless. On top of that it was $1000 to put in a home charger. I’m paying for public charging naturally, not that much cheaper than buying gas.. Also, Hyundai was supposed to release the Tesla adapter at the beginning of 2025 and now I’m told it won’t be released till December. I would not buy his car again

A few things to we ended up learning...

This vehicle has required several trips to the dealership for recalls. It has been difficult to reach the service department to schedule and ask questions. The lack of a rear windshield wiper in our rainy climate has been challenging with reduced visibility. Also, we did not use Bluetooth but the 12v battery abruptly failed and this could have been dangerous. As it was, it was terribly inconvenient and confusing. There are so many features that monitor the state of the car, it seems bizarre that the 12v battery could halt the total function of the vehicle. When we reported our experience, the dealership responded as if it was a mystery, although the internet reports this as a huge flaw in the Ioniq 5 with numerous instances of 12v battery failure.

Love car but charging broken for half its life

We love this car in general. But the charging system has been broken for half the time we’ve owned it. Countless repair visits. Seems to be working now but yesterday on a trip it had 140 miles and then suddenly 25. We don’t know if we can face dealing with this.

Best Driving Vehicle I've Ever Owned - But Be Prepared for EV Hassles

This is a touch review to give. On one hand, this is the best vehicle I've every owned...and it's not that close! The build quality of the Ioniq 5 is excellent. I love the way this vehicle drives! It's smooth, responsive and also comfortable. Oh, and it's incredibly quiet! The back seat is very roomy - it can comfortably sit 5. The tech in the car is very high quality and is also reliable. I will also add that it's amazing to have a car that requires so little maintenance! If I had to nitpick anything, I would simply suggest to add a rear-window wiper (Hyundai already did for '25) and I would also want the seatbelts adjusted or padded to they don't knock around the side of the car (only because the car is SOOOO quiet). So...yeah...the car is amazing. If you are willing to look for an EV I would HIGHLY recommend this vehicle. If you are on the fence about it, though, let me throw out a couple of cautionary items: first, the charging infrastructure in the midwest of the US (I live in Ohio) is pretty paltry. If you want to do any traveling > 50 miles, much planning is needed as there aren't many charges that can take advantage of the car's fast-charging capabilities. Second, if you have cold winters like me, be prepared for a significant drop in range. While I love getting 300 miles for 8-9 months a year, it drops to maybe 200-220 in cold conditions. Again, if you travel much that is a big impact. Lastly, while I haven't had to deal with much in terms of maintenance or repair, my experience with dealer service on the EV has not been great. It doesn't seem like their mechanics have much experience with these cars. I had an incident where I blew out a tire after running over a large board while in heave traffic. I found out that the board bounced up and "damaged" the battery shield which sits below the car. That part and repair cost over $5k! And I had to wait almost 8 weeks to get the part. Again, I chalk most of this up to the fact that this is still a newer technology. Hopefully, the infrastructure continues to grow and the battery performance in cold weather does as well.

I need a Tesla Charging station adapter now!!!!!!!!!

overall we really have enjoyed the car. However it needs a rear window wiper because you cannot see out of the rear window when it rains or it is dirty and this is dangerous. The lane assist function is dangerous because on curves it does not always know what to do. I am extremely disappointed because despite many phone calls and following all of the procedures given to me I still do not have the adaptor to share at Tesla charging stations.
